Tutor

Tutors meet regularly with students enrolled in courses or for feedback and self-improvement. They must have superior knowledge of the tutoring area. It can be for a one-time appointment or on an on-going basis.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist students with organization, time management, and basic academic questions
  • Capable of providing constructive feedback
  • Tutor students in a particular subject area
  • Capable of working independently
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability
  • Document reports onto Starfish
  • Take CRLA Level 1/Regular Tutor training within a month of hiring
  • Participate in meetings/training
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills

Prerequisites for Employment

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Good signing and receptive skills
  • Have ‘B’ or higher in grade in the course(s) to be tutored
