Wyatte C. Hall, Ph.D.

Dr. Hall, ’14, is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He recently published an edited book with Neil S. Glickman, titled Language Deprivation and Deaf Mental Health.

Noelle Opsahl, Ph.D.

Dr. Opsahl, ’18, is a Clinical Psychologist in the Trauma Services Program at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. She is the recent recipient of the 2019 McCay Vernon Outstanding JADARA Article Award for her publication, Understanding the Sexual Assault Disclosure Experiences of Deaf Women.

Danielle Previ, Ph.D.

Dr. Previ, ’18, is currently employed in the Neuropsychology Department at Kennedy Krieger Institute. Currently at the DREAM Clinic, she is providing neuropsychological assessment to deaf and hard of hearing children. Her clinical supervisor, Dr. Jennifer Reesman, ’08, recently was interviewed about Dr. Previ.

Nur Farhana Ardillah Binti Aftar, Ph.D.

Dr. Aftar, ’18, recently joined the faculty of the University of Malaysia Sabah (Department of Psychology and Education). Her dissertation examined factors leading to academic success among deaf Malaysian emerging adults.

Cara Miller, Ph.D.

Dr. Miller, ’11, recently joined the core faculty of the Gallaudet Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. She is featured in the article “Discrimination against interns with disabilities,” published in the Monitor on Psychology Magazine (American Psychological Association, September 2018).

Adam Brownfeld, Ph.D.

Dr. Brownfeld, ’10, is a clinical psychologist in private practice in New York state, where he works with deaf and hard of hearing clients.

Pamela Dean, Ph.D.

Dr. Pamela Dean, Ph.D., ABPP-CN, ’10, is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist working in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington. She serves on several national committees for the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, Society for Clinical Neuropsychology (Division 40), and the International Neuropsychological Society.

Shilpa Hanumantha, Ph.D.

Dr. Hanumantha, ’08, is an Associate Professor in the American Sign Language Program at the University of Virginia. She also is affiliated with the Department of Psychology.

Michael John Gournaris, Ph.D.

Dr. Gournaris, ’04, is the Mental Health Program Director for the Minnesota Department of Human Services and the immediate past president of the American Deafness and Rehabilitation Association. He also is the founder and chief of the MJG Consulting Group.
