Overview

It will be an exciting year where we discuss the future of STEM sign langauge lexicons around the world and its impact on STEM education and careers.

The year will have a series of events, and the first one was hosted on March 1-2, 2023 for STEM Sign Language Lexicon Founders & Leaders.   The webinar recording of the showcase on March 1 along with other presentation videos are available below.

Events include:

March 3, 2023:  The World of STEM Sign Langauge Lexicons – AAAS Annual Meeting, Washington, DC USA

July 11-15, 2023:  Global Year of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Sign Lexicons – World Federation of the Deaf Congress, Jeju, South Korea

September 5, 2023:  An International Look at Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Sign Lexicons – Deaf Academics Conference, Vienna Austria.  The September 5 event is a pre-conference event.  Please register here.

November 17-18, 2023: Symposium on STEM Sign Lexicons for Teachers and Educational Interpreters – National Techinical Institute for the Deaf/Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York.  Up to 100 registrants will be accepted. For more information, contact Dr. Chris Kurz.

March 2-5, 2024:  STEM Sign Language Lexicon Summit – Gallaudet University, Washington, DC.  The Summit website is now live and contains registration formation. 

August 28-September 1, 2024: 3rd Deaf STEM European Conference: Development of the Deaf STEM due to Modern Technologies. Olsztyn, Poland.  For more information, contact deafstempl@gmail.com.
